Doctor of Audiology
Dr. Peterson is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) where she receiver her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology in 2009. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Audiology in 2013 from the University of South Dakota (USD). During her time at the USD, she was honored to be a three-time recipient of the USD Speech and Hearing Scottish Rite Foundation of South Dakota, Graduate Fellowship Award.
Dr. Peterson participated in the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) Traineeship program from 2010-2011. This program, funded by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, provides training for professionals who serve children and youth with special health needs and/or developmental disabilities. Dr. Peterson’s training has supplied experience in providing aural rehabilitation training to adults, working with children and individuals with special needs/developmental disabilities, diagnosis, and treatment of Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD), providing patients with tinnitus management techniques, and treatment of hearing-related disorders through the use of multiple forms of hearing assistive technologies.
Dr. Peterson began working at LeMay Hearing & Balance in June of 2013. Dr. Peterson believes in placing the patient’s needs first and enjoys working closely with patients and their family members to reach successful outcomes.
